Our Story

First and foremost, Ling Ling d’amour is the story of a mum, which then turned into the story of a family, without fuss!

Ling Ling d’amour is a dream where babywearing becomes mainstream, where quality products become available to everyone, for reasonable prices. Every product is developed and tested with the greatest care, using our specific professional backgrounds without worrying about our margins: the secret behind LLA’s prices isn’t low-cost materials or production costs, but only a reduced margin and an optimised supply chain, so we can cut away all unnecessary costs, and let you enjoy quality materials and products.

The Manager: Elodie (aka Mrs LLA)

Mum of 2 children, textile engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles, she embarked on an adventure which turned out quite different from what she expected. Before starting Ling Ling d’amour, she had built up an experience in quality and social audit within two French companies in China. Then, the birth of her daughter changed everything…and so began the babywearing adventure, and Ling Ling d’amour was created.

In 2014, the Ling Ling d’amour family has moved to Cambodia. And in 2018, the family has moved again in another country in Asia : Vietnam. Since 2014, Chinese productions have become Vietnamese in an effort to facilitate the production follow-up process and the search for a partner to set up a long-lasting cooperation.

At night, once the children are in bed at last, and now also in the morning (as her children have grown up), she can work without being interrupted too much.

The independent affiliated worker

The affiliated worker is Mr LLA, a textile engineer from the same school as Elodie, the ENSAIT. He has worked in Asia in quality, production and executive management, then came back to quality/ethics/social/environment, and eventually created his own consultant company in 2014. His first client was of course LLA, and it was a good pretext to spend more time helping Elodie in all aspects related to the Supply Chain.

What are Mr LLA’s missions?

• Validation of production factories: trained to social audits, Mr and Mrs LLA select factories on important ethical and social factors. As LLA is always looking for long-lasting cooperations, we help our partner set up and maintain their sustainable development.

The independent workers

Ling Ling d'amour works with 4 independent workers:

✓ 1independent logistics consultant who helps us transferring goods between Asia and France.

✓ 1 independent illustrator-graphic designer-adventuress : Macha is LLA’s official illustrator and graphic designer (flyers, posters, instructions leaflets, brochures, website illustrations…). She is now also a mum and carries her daughter daily with LLA.

✓1 independent worker: Grandma LLA - Mr. LLA’s mother – who has been helping since the very beginning of LLA’s adventure. She’s the one who has prepared your products with love for 3 years. The family garage in France eventually ended up too small to stock all our products, and they are now stored by our logistics subcontractor. She now deals with aftersales management, and sends off second choice products and posters and flyers for professional customers..

LLA subcontracts storage and packages preparation to a logistic platform nearby Clermont-Ferrand. This subcontractor prepares your packages daily for a fast and efficient dispatch.

Some of you may have noticed that many babywearing brands share the same story. Generally speaking, babywearing results from the instinctive search for the child’s well-being, through the contact and closeness between the child and their carer. Nobody is unique, but everyone is an individual with their own ideas. So, if everybody reaches the same conclusion, it’s only because it is the best solution!
